What is Shrapnel Game?
Shrapnel is a sci-fi extraction shooter game that allows players to actually own their in-game assets. It is a free-to-play multiplayer game and is suitable for both solo and team play.

1. Operator classes
Players can choose one of three classes: Assault, Survivalist or Infosec.
Each class has its own skill-based progression, each character can unlock a variety of abilities and equipment specializations to improve the gamer’s gameplay.
One class’s weaknesses can be complemented by the strengths of other classes, diversifying tactics and emphasizing combination play.

2. Gear and Crafting
SHRAPNEL has a feature that allows players to craft gears that suit them, including gears they have collected from previous versions.
There are 4 types as follows:
- Weapon: are NFTs or weapon crafting documents to create NFTs and sell on the marketplace.
- Armor: are NFTs that can be crafted and sold on the marketplace.
- Consumables: single-use in-game items like grenades and medical kits, they are not NFTs.
- Technology: not NFT, just extended features to support players such as (night vision, map interaction support, …)
3. Player – creates tournament
Players can create their own tournaments in SHRAPNEL, set the rules, define the terms, and promote them. These high-stakes tournaments offer both creators and competitors the opportunity to earn rewards.
4. Missions
All players can participate in goal-oriented missions involving mining gameplay, content creation, and a chance to win $SHRAP Token rewards.

Player-generated content is key to the SHRAPNEL experience.
Professional-grade creator tools built with the same Unreal technology we use for the game will allow anyone to quickly start creating their own SHRAPNEL game-related content.
Players can mint that content into NFTs, trade it in the SHRAPNEL Marketplace, and earn rewards based on its popularity.
- Base assets: Shrapnel team will create a collection of base assets, creators will collect it to create vanity items.
- Vanity: There will be 5 classified vanity materials with limited supply that help creators use them to create limited quantity NFTs to create scarcity, exclusivity and sell them on the marketplace.
- Map: Players will be able to create their own maps using both the base assets provided by SHRAPNEL to create interesting content.

The unlock schedule of ecosystem funds and community rewards may be changed in the future.

Mark Long is: Former CEO of Meteor (Hawken) and Zombie Studios (Blacklight, America’s Army, Spec Ops), with 27 years of experience he has produced over 32 titles on every platform from SEGA Genesis to Oculus Rift, including some of the first free-to-play games on consoles.
Long is a thought leader in cloud gaming, creating and leading Microsoft x Cloud and acquiring games-as-a-service platform Playfab.

Funding Rounds
Shrapnel has had 3 previous funding rounds.
Round 1 of funding took place in November 2021, the team raised $10.5M
Round 2 of funding took place in April 2022, the team successfully raised $7M through a private token sale.
Round 3 of funding took place in October 2023, the team successfully raised $20M in series A, led by Polychain Capital.
Polychain Capital appeared in most of the investment rounds, in addition to the participation of many other large funds such as Griffin Gaming Partners, showing that this project is quite good and is being developed according to a clear roadmap. By the time of the series A round, they had raised $20M.

Shrapnel’s roadmap is quite well done, on their website they divide it into 3 parts: done, underway, planning.

Epic Games Store list Shrapnel
Epic Games Store announced that they will list Shrapnel on their store allowing players to access Shrapnel easily.
Illuvium is also announced to be listed at the end of November 2023, a move that shows Epic Games’ support for NFT games.
